Flóra Vági does very interesting things to books. As far as I can tell she burns the pages and transforms them from reading material into beautiful organic looking objects. This one is my favorite, but you should check out the others.
This is an accent wall in a small Tokyo sweet shop, and it's covered in folded pieces of paper. This is an amazingly lovely way to cover a wall - and very labour intensive.
It gives me ideas...
I'm starting to work through a new series of collage in my head, and the subject will most likely be birds. I was inspired by my recent reworking on the Tree of [Un]Common Knowledge because I have a book full of birds to make use of.
I like Tony Fitzpatrick's take on the classic collage with birds. These are playful, highly detailed, and colourful. They give me ideas.

I love the idea of flying books, so of course I had to watch this book trailer. There is a brief scene in this that caught my eye, of a woman flying through the air while tethered to a flock of flying books. It's an idea I now want to shoot as a portrait.
These may look like paper cut work but they're actually acrylic paintings on canvas that the artist has cut into intricately. These are amazing and inspiring.

This is just stunning. These are drawings done with wax pencil by Christina Empedocles that she turns into paper cut sculpture. Imagine a whole wall of these. They're just incredible.

I really love these beautiful animal specimens by artist Lori Tomita. She apparently treats and stains the specimens until they are translucent in a process that can take up to a year. They are similar to specimens I came across at the Royal Ontario Museum on my last trip to Toronto.
Alexander Korzer-Robinson has a style similar to Brian Dettmer in that he cuts away at the book to create his compositions and then seals it closed. This one is my favorite but it was really hard to choose.

I love Kathleen Lolley's whimsical and imaginative style.
